  1. While waiting at the marina I read a book about decades long efforts to save the puma from extinction in Florida. The ranch and swamp land surrounding the marina is integral to the habitat and is the very spot where pumas are documented to be crossing the Caloosahatchee River from south to north to repopulate the northern part of the state. I did not see one, but they are there.

  2. Guys,
Love the update and the photos. Great area near Fort Meyers. Hope to catch up soon

  3. A 4th thought
Your, I think, extraordinary tenacity, reminds me of Tom Lehrer’s song- “making the best of a bad situation”. Henny may not remember him – he was prominent in 50’s, 60’s, and Crimson. My father, tho, also a Yalie, played Lehrer’s satirical records frequently at cocktail time…those were the days! Stay strong! (Alligators not withstanding😳)

    1. Rosemary, my siblings and I can still sing the entire album “That Was The Year That Was (1964) word for word (“Hollywood’s often tried to mix/ show business with politics/from Helen Gahagan/ to—-Ronald Reagan???) My father loved him too!

  4. Henny!
What an adventure! I know Labelle well ( I even went to the swamp cabbage festival…john has a T-shirt)
I wish I had known you were there… my sister lives at Verandah ( two great golf courses) about 20 minutes away…5 miles eat of 75. If you like me…you would love her🤪
Where are you now? Shall I expect you some time in WPB? Hope so!
    Staywell!
    Debbie

  5. I love your photos and commentary! I’m envious that you got to spend a bit of time in Naples…that’s where Harrison and I usually go to spend the week between Christmas and New Years. Very sad to miss the RC on the beach this year.
    Sending love and hugs,
    Lisa
